Description:
German Potato Salad
Ingredients:
1 large can Reed's German potato salad
1 small can Reed's German potato salad
5 or 6 cooked thin bacon, crumpled
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1/4 cup of solidified bacon grease (with bacon bits, not just fat)
Directions:
My mother prepared this for the Pottinger reunion each year. The bacon was fried at home the day before. Early on the day of the reunion (7:00 am), Mother would combine all of the above in a crock pot at the motel and later we would plug it in at the reunion to keep warm. Doing this tends to cause some aroma at the motel. We always removed all of the garbage and left nothing in the motel room.
