Joseph Willard Pottinger, age 96, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Joe was a World War II Navy veteran.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Florence F. (Taddie) Pottinger; daughter, Paulette Korody (Lew); son, Ken Pottinger (Judy); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Joseph was the oldest son of William Raffo Pottinger born 1898 and died 1952. Raffo was born in Nelson Co., KY and went to boarding school in Cleveland. He was a farmer and boarding house owner. He married Clara Howard (1900-1991) on Jan 15 1919, in Howardstown, Nelson Co., KY. They lived in Howardstown, Hodgenville and Louisville. In 1942 they bought a big house at 1362 13th street in Louisville and ran it as a boarding house for 18 yrs.
