Sandy Polito called me and asked if we could post an obit on Pottinger-Pottenger site for her cousin's daughter. Kathleen Sanborn was at the last reunion with them, (photo of Sandy and Kathleen in 2016 pics). Sandy and Kathleen are sisters, and their grandmother is Clara Belle Pottinger 1891-1973. Clara is daughter of Wilson Alberto Pottinger 1857-1932, son of Milton Pottinger 1847-1884, son of Sam Pottenger 1792-1859, son of Sam Simmons Pottenger 1767-1827, son of "old Sam" Pottenger 1718-1820, son of First Sam Pottenger 1693-1742, son of John 1661-1735 our original Pottenger.

Sarah Sanborn Jay, age 34, of Blowing Rock, N.C., passed away Saturday morning, March 11, 2017, in her home. Sarah was born on January 7th, 1983 in Augusta, GA to David and Kathleen Sanborn.
Mrs. Jay was the beloved wife of Matthew Isaiah Jay and devoted mother to three children, Sadie Elizabeth Jay, Calvin James Jay and newborn, Eleanor Jones Jay.
Sarah was known for her bright smile, happy personality and immeasurable dedication to her family. She was a member of Rumple Memorial Presbyterian church.
Memorial services for Sarah Sanborn Jay will be conducted Saturday morning, March 25, 2017, at 11:00 o'clock, at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blowing Rock. A reception will follow the memorial service at American Legion Hall in Blowing Rock, N.C.
